Yogurt Chicken is a very popular recipe in Eid-ul-Adha. Where chicken pieces are cooked in lip-smacking semi-dry gravy made using yogurt and spices. It is best served with chappati. The yogurt Chicken recipe is made with slow-flame.

It’s easy to prepare. You won’t have to spend too much of your time in the kitchen to make such a satisfying meal. Especially if you use an Instant Pot or like me to speed up the cooking process of the meat. How To Make IT?

Marinate The Chicken

Wash the chicken piece and add into the bowl, and add 2 tablespoons of coriander powder.

And then add 1 tablespoon of cumin powder.

Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.

Next, I have add 3 tablespoons of red chili powder. You can be used according to your taste.

Then add 1 teaspoon of whole spices powder.

Add 1 tablespoon of paprika powder (for color).

Then add 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, and garlic paste.

Now add 1 cup of yogurt and mix combined.

And Marinated for 30 minutes.

Take a blender jar and add 1 cup of fried onion and 2 medium-sized tomatoes and 1/4 cup of water.

And blend until smooth puree.

Cook Chicken

In a karahi, heat 1/2 cup of cooking oil.When the oil is warmed.

And add the marinated chicken.

And saute till lightly fried.

Add some salt (I have used 1 teaspoon of Salt) and keep frying.

After the chicken is slightly cooked, add in the mix of tomato and onion puree and mix well.

Keep cooking until the masala leaves oil. Now add some water and when it starts boiling, cover the lids and cook until the chicken is soft and tender. Check for salt and adjust accordingly. When the chicken is tender, increase the heat and cook for another 5 minutes until you can see the oil separate.

Take off the heat, garnish with onion rings and serve hot.

  • 1000 Gram Chicken
  • 1 Cup Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tbsp Coriander Powder
