Dhaba Dal Fry

Dhaba Dal fry is one of the most normally used lentils in Indian cuisine. Dhaba Dal is usually made with a pressure cooker, however, I actually have used a cooking pot, I discovered my recipe I have including only 3 lentils (pluses), Moong dal(Green gram dal), Masoor dal(pink lentil), chana dal(split chickpea lentils) which are cooked collectively in tomato, spices, herb, after which tempered with onion. How to make dhaba dal tadka

Cooking Daal

1. Wash the dal and soak in tap water for 30 minutes, add the dal to a pot and then pour 6 cups of water.

2. Then add the following Ingredients.

  • 1 Medium size Tomato cut into sliced
  • Fresh grated ginger, 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • 2 Green chili slit
  • Coriander leaves chopped, 2 tablespoons

3. Cook for 25-30 minutes on a low flame(the daal should be cooked very well and softened) depending on the quality of lentils(pluses) cook time increases and decrease.

4. After 30 minutes, check the dal is soft and tender. If not tender, then cook again 10 minutes, until water is dried up and mushy the dal with a spoon for 1 minute.

5. Then add all the Everyday spices.

  • Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder 1&1/2 tablespoons
  • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Salt 1 teaspoon

6. Mix well.

7. Add 2 cups water and mix well and then cover and cook for 10 minutes on a low flame till the dal little thick consistency.

Making Tadka

1. In the frying pan, add 4 tablespoons of oil, and add sliced onion and fry for a minute until the onion is golden. Now transfer the tadka to the cooked daal.

2. When the dal is done, add, sprinkle chop coriander and green chili.

3. Serve with Boil Rice,Roti (Chapati & Phulka).

  • 1/2 Cup Chana Daal (split chickpea lentils)
  • 1 Medium Tomato

  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger

  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1&1/2 Tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt

Tadka

  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 1 Small Onion Cut into sliced

Instructions
 

How To Make daal

  • Wash the dal and soak in tap water for 30 minutes, add the dal to a pot and then pour 6 cups of water.
  • Add the Lentils to a pot and then add pour 6 cups of water.
  • Then add, sliced tomato, fresh grated ginger, garlic cloves, green chili, coriander leaves and mix well and cook for 25-30 minutes on a low flame. Until dal is cooked very softened and water is dries.
  • After 30 minutes, check the dal is soft and tender. If not tender, then cook again 10 minutes, until water is dries up and mushy the dal with spoon for 1 minutes.
  • Then add,1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,1 tablespoon coriander powder,1 teaspoon cumin powder,1 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder,1 teaspoon salt and mix very well.
  • Next add,2 cups water and mix well and then cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Meanwhile, heat 1/2 cup oil and then add sliced onion, fry for a minute until golden.
  • Transfer the takda to the cooked dal when the dal is done, finally add coriander leaves.
