Masoor Dal Recipe is so tang and spices daal dish. Basically dal recipe Indian made using of cooked lentils which are tempered with oil and herbs. This masoor dal recipe is easy to make. What is Masoor dal called in English?

It is also known as masoor ki daal in English it is known as Black lentils. It is a rich source of protein and fiber.

Meaning Of Daal Tadka

Daal: The literal translation of Dal means Lentil (pluse).

Tadka:In English, tadka is known as “tempering.”Tadka or tempering is a part of cooking.tadka is added to enhance the flavor of the dish. Where oil is heated to a and then spices are added.

How To Make Masoor Dal

Add 1&1/2 cups masoor dal to a bowl. Wash and Rinse it well two times. Drain the water.

Add the drained daal,1 teaspoon turmeric powder,5 garlic cloves,2 green chilies sliced optional to the cooking pot, then pour 3 glasses of water in it.

Bring to a boil, then cover and cook on low flame for 30 minutes to check between until the daal are tender. When the daal is cooked.

Next, add sliced tomato, cover, and cook on low flame for 10 minutes until it becomes soft. Tomato mash well with the help of a wooded masher.

Now add 1 tablespoon red chili powder,1 teaspoon salt,1/2 cup tamarind pulp, and stir through. And then add pour 1 glass of water.

Mix and cook for 5 minutes on a low flame, so that the daal does not stick to the pot. Finally, add chop coriander leaves.

For Tempering

Heat oil in a pan adds garlic cloves to fry until golden. Then add cumin seeds, allow the cumin seeds to crackle.

Now, add whole red chili, mustard seeds, nigella seeds, curry leaf fry for a minute, and transfer to the cooked daal.

  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 Cup Tarmarind pulp
  • 2 Medium Tomatoes
  • 2 Green chili
  • Coriander leave chop

  • 8 Garlic Cloves
  • 4 Whole red chili
  • 2 Curry leaf
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Mustard seed
  • 1 Tsp Nigella Seeds
