Cumin seeds are also known as Jeera in URDU languages. It is an easy dish where rice is flavored with cumin seed.
What Is Cumin Rice?
It is a flavored rice dish make by cooking rice with ghee, cumin seeds, and the aroma of whole spices.
Serve with different curry, I personally like this recipe with Masala kaleji Recipe.
I moreover fry the spices in ghee, is a taste with a tremendous aroma of rice.

However, you can add onion if you like it. At times, even onion is add to give a nice Caramel color to the rice.
I additionally choose to use basmati rice for the excellent end result, they flip out separates and are fluffy.
Jeera rice recipe
Wash and soak rice, for haft minutes. After half a minute and Drain the water and set it aside.
Heat oil in a pot and add all the whole spices like Star anise, Cinnamon stick, Black peppercorns, Cloves, Cumin seeds, Bay leaf, black cardamom and fry for 1 minute on medium flame until aroma comes to oil.
Now add drained rice to it and fry for half a minute on a medium flame and then add 1 and 1/2 cup of water to the rice and mix well.
Bring it to a boil and meanwhile add 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste and cook the rice on a medium flame uncover until all the water is absorb, and the rice grains are fluffy.
Serve with Chicken Korma.

Ingredients
- 1 Cup Rice
- 1 & 1/2 Cup Water
- 4 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 5-6 Black Pepper Corn
- 3-4 Cloves
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2-3 Star anise
- 1-2 Black Cardamom
- 1 Tsp Salt To taste
Instructions

Bring it to a boil and meanwhile add 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste and cook the rice on a medium flame uncovered until all the water absorbed, and the rice grains are fluffy.
- Serve with Chicken Korma.
