Fried Onions (Barista French’s onions) are very popular in Indian cooking. They can be used for garnishing as well as cooking for Beef Nihari | Beef Stew & Slow-Cooker Nihari |.
How To Make IT?
Peel 1 kg of onions and wash them with water.
Slice the onions into thin slices evenly using a sharp knife.
Wash again and drain the water completely.
Next, heat up the oil in a large, deep pot. Once hot (over medium heat), add the sliced onion and allow them to fry until browned and crispy for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to make sure they’re frying evenly.
After 5 minutes, when completely brown, remove the fried onions from the hot oil.
Place them over a layer of paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
Transfer to an airtight bottle and freeze for up to 3 months.
