What Is Korma?
Korma or Qorma is a gravy dish starting in the Indian subcontinent. Comprising meat or vegetables braised with yogurt (Dahi) or cream, water or stock, and lots of nuts and spices flavors to deliver a thick sauce or glaze.
Korma History
Korma or Qorma has its underlying foundations in the Mughal cuisine of the Indian subcontinent. A trademark Mughal dish. It very well may be followed back to the sixteenth century and to the Mughal invasions into the area. Korma was frequently arranged in the Mughal court kitchens.
For example, the well-known white korma, chicken korma, beef korma, button korma may be decorated with dark, said to have been served to Shah Johan and his visitors at the introduction of the Taj Mahal.

Homemade Korma Masala
- Red chili powder 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Salt 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder 2 tbsp
- Nutmeg powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Mace powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Green cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
- Black cardamom powder 1 tsp
- Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder 1 tsp
- Bay leaf powder 1 tsp
- Black pepper core 6 cloves
- Cloves 6
- Green cardamom pods 4
- Bay leaf 4
Take a jar,add all ingredients into the jar and shake well.
Homemade Korma Masala is ready.
Korma Ingredients
- Chicken 1 kg (1000 gram)
- Onion 2 Large cut into sliced
- Ghee 1/3 cup
- Yogurt 1/3 cup
- Ginger Garlic paste 2 tbsp
How to make chicken korma
In a cooking pot,add ghee let’s melt then add sliced onion and fry until crispy then, take out and spread on tissue paper.
Take a blender jar add fried onion,1/4 cup of water and blend until smooth pasta and set aside.
In a same cooking pot,add chicken and fry.And then add ginger garlic paste and fry again.
Now,add homemade Korma Masala and mix very well and cook for a minute.
Then add whisk yogurt and mix well cover and cook until chicken is tender.
When the chicken is almost done.Now add onion paste mix and cook until oil is separate on the top.
