Chicken Liver

Chicken Masala kaleji means to fry kaleji pieces of the chicken liver with spices and ginger garlic paste.

Usually, onions, and yogurt are also added to make masala gravy. It is served with naan or Roti (Chapati & Phulka),Boil Rice Khatti Dal | Hyderabadi khatti dal.

What is kaleji masala?

The name kaleji is a Hindi name where ‘kaleji’ means liver (mutton ,beef,goat or chicken) and ‘masala’ means spices.

Ingredients Note Down For Chicken Liver

Chicken liver 250 gram

Yogurt 1/4 cup

Caramelized Onion Puree (onion paste)1/2 cup

Ginger Garlic Paste (adrak lasan paste) 1 tsp

Cooking oil 5 tbsp

Red Chili powder 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder 1 tsp

Cumin powder 1 tsp

Salt 1 tsp

Coriander powder 1 tbsp

Whole spices powder 1 tsp

Green Chili chopped

Coriander leaves chopped

How To Make Chicken Liver?

Heat,5 tbsp of cooking oil, when the oil is hot,then add the onion paste and give a stir. Cook it in high flame for 2 minutes until golden in colour. Stir continuously.

Add 1 tsp of Ginger Garlic Paste (adrak lasan paste) and mix it well. Cook it on low flame for 1 minutes until the raw smell goes away.

Add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, and 1 teaspoon cumin powder, and mix it well. Cook it on low flame for 2 minutes so the raw smell of the spice goes away.

Add,250 gram chicken liver and stir well until change color.

Add 1/4 cup of yogurt and mix for 2 minutes until yogurt release water.

Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.After 10 minutes liver is tender and oil realased for the top.

Garnish with chopped coriander, green chili.
