Kulfa ghost curry with purslane leaves is a unique and often made dish at my home. It is a very popular dish of both the Indian and Pakistani cuisines. You will find this kulfa gosht recipe, hyderabadi made a lot of times in the households of both of the countries.
Hyderabadi kulfa Gosht recipe is a lovely combination. The unique taste of mutton and a slightly bitter taste of purslane leaves, gives this dish a flavorful taste.

WHAT IS KULFA Ghost?
The Kulfa ghost recipe is made with kulfa leaves or purslane leaves. Kulfa gosht is also made by adding mutton masala with purslane leaves.
INGREDIENTS Needed
- Kulfa leaves (Purslane leaves)
- Mutton meat
- Onion
- Raw mango
- Ginger garlic paste
- Spices
- Cooking oil
- Water

Making Kulfa gosht
Fry the onion in oil till translucent. Next, add in the Ginger Garlic Paste (adrak lasan paste)and fry till the raw smell vanishes.
Then, add 250 grams of meat and fry until golden.

Add the following spices.
Red chili powder 2 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp as needed
Coriander powder 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp

Stir well. Then add 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, cover, and cook for 20 minutes til meat is tender.

After 20 minutes meat is done and oil is separate from the sides.

Add chopped kulfa cover the lid and cook for 20 minutes on medium-low heat.

Lastly,add 1 cup of raw mango and cook for another 10 minutes.

Kulfa ghost curry
Ingredients
- 1 Bunch Kulfa Purslane leaves
- 2 Medium Raw mango
- 2 Tsp Red chili powder
- 1 Tsp Cumin Powder
- 2 Tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 2 Medium Onion
- 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 6 Tbsp Oil
- Green chili
- 2 Cup Water
- 250 Gram Mutton meat
Instructions
- Fry onion in oil till translucent. Next add in the homemade Ginger Garlic Paste (adrak lasan paste) and fry till raw smell vanishes.
- Then, add 250 grams of meat and fry until golden.
- Add the following spices.2 tsp Red chili powder1 tsp cumin powder1 tsp turmeric powder 11 tsp of salt2 tsp Coriander
- Stir well. Then add 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, cover, and cook for 20 minutes until meat is tender.
