This is a great Indian dish to make for lunch or as a main course. One of my all-time favourite prawn recipe.

This shrimp curry is one of my most amazing recipe . It’s easy to follow, always delicious, and perfectly served with chappati.Shrimp curry (Prawn curry) is one of our favorite meals as a family. It’s as perfect for Lunch as it is for a cozy meal at home well. This curry is also delicious served with rice, roti.

What spices to use in Shrimp curry?

The following are spices that are often used in curry. Whole spices powder (a good quality blend of spices is a great way to get all the flavor you want without using a lot of different spices.)Turmeric powder, coriander powder, Cumin powder, Red chili powder.

How to make curry shrimp

Add a 1/2 cup of oil and add the prawns.

And deep-frying, over medium heat for 10–15 minutes until the prawns have changed color and are crispy. Once the prawns are crispy then remove the prawns from the hot oil and set them aside.

Heat the 1/4 cup cooking oil in a heavy-based pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and fry until it turns light brown. Add the ginger, garlic paste, and saute well.

Then, add tomato sliced.

Cook until tomatoes are soft and then add 1 tablespoon of red chili powder.

Add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.

And then add 1 tablespoon of coriander powder.

Next, add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder and keep stirring for 1 minute.

Now add 1/2 cup water and Bring the gravy to a simmer then allow to cook until onions are mushy.

When the onion is mushy then add fried prawns.

Now add 1 teaspoon whole spices powder.

Finally, add 1/2 cup water and mix well.

Remove the lid, increase the heat and cook the curry until you can see the oil coming to the surface. Garnish with the coriander leaves and chop green chili.

Serve.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Kg Prawns
  • 1/2 Cup Cooking Oil
  • 2 Medium-Sized Onion chopped
  • 1 Tsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Paste
  • 2 Medium-Sized Tomato slices
  • 1 Tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp Whole spices powder
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Green chili
  • Coriander leaves

Notes

  • I haven’t added salt. my prawns are saltly, but your prawns are not saltly you can add 1/2 tsp of salt according to your taste.
