Aloo Gobi is a simply delicious Punjabi Vegetable recipe. This semi-dry recipe is made with cauliflower, potatoes, and regular spices and it is a quick and easy meal.
Aloo Gobi means potato cauliflower. Potato is known as Aloo in Hindi. Cauliflower is known as the Gobi in Hindi.
Required Ingredients
- Cauliflower
- Potatoes Small cubes
- Tomatoes slices
- Coriander leaves chopped
- Onion cut into slices
- Ginger Crush
- Garlic Crush
- Cooking Oil For any brand
- Green chili Slit
- Regular Spices like,Salt,Turmeric
- Red chili powder,Cumin powder,Coriander powder,red chili flakes.
Step-by-Step Image
Heat oil to a metal pot add 1 small sliced onion and fry till the onion is translucent.
And then add, crush garlic, ginger, and stir fry until golden.
Now add gobi and stir fry for 2 minutes.
Add Regular spices powder.
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
- Red chili Flakes 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Saute for 1 minute till the oil begins to leave the pot.
And then add, potatoes cubes and fry for 1 minute.
Add the sliced tomatoes and cover and cook for 1 minute till they are soft.
Until tomatoes are soft and add pour 1 cup of water.
Cover and cook on a low flame until gobi and aloo turn tender. I cooked for 10 minutes. When the gobi is completely cooked and all the moisture is gone and add chop coriander and green chili.
Serve with warm fresh roti.

- 2 inches Ginger
- 1/4 Cup Oil
- 1 Tbsp Red chili powder
- 1 Tsp Cumin powder
- 1 Tsp Red chili flakes
- 1 Tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
- Coriander leaves For garnishing
