It is popular in Hyderabadi cuisine to serve at Muslim weddings. This is my favorite sweet recipe that I make at festivals whenever I sweet craving for some sweet recipe.
I am so excited to share the Double Ka Meetha (bread pudding & bread halwa) recipe with you today. I love to pair it with the Chicken Biryani (pakistani style)Even the bread is deep-fried in ghee, the taste traditional. Taste, even more, better if add with khoya I personally used khoya in this sweet recipe.

Hyderabadi double ka meetha, as the name suggests, is a recipe native to Hyderabad. This recipe is a sweet taste of the royal Indian dessert makes for a perfect dish to savour after a good dinner. Top it up with mawa to up the delicious quotient. You will be surprised that this kid friendly dessert is made with simple ingredients and in no time.

Ingredients For Double Ka Meetha
- Full-Fat Milk
- Bread
- Condensed Milk
- Khoya
- Pistachio
- Ghee
How To Make Double Ka Meetha
Make Sauce
Bring 2 cups of milk to a boil when it comes to a boil, add 1 cup of condensed milk and mix well so that condensed milk dissolves in the milk.
And stir and cook on a medium for under 10 minutes until the milk thickens.
Deep-frying
Heat ghee and dip-fry the bread slices until they turn golden on both sides.
Assembly
Arrange the fried bread slices on a serving plate pour the milk sauce on top of the fried bread. Spread khoya and sliced pistachio.
You can serve this warm or cool. This will stay fresh for up to a week when stored in a clean and dry air-tight container in the refrigerator.

- 2 Cups Full Fat Milk
- 4 large sized Bread
- 1 Cup Condensed milk
- khoya as needed
- Pistachios as needed
- Ghee for frying
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 tsp kewra essence
Instructions
Make Sauce
- Bring 2 cups of milk to a boil when it comes to a boil, add 1 cup of condensed milk,1 teaspoon of cardamon powder,1 teaspoon of kewra essense mix well so that condensed milk dissolve in the milk.
- And stir and cook on a medium under 10 minutes milk thickens.
