Methi Moong Dal is a slight spice, healthy and nutritions that s perfect for lunchtime. This one-pot Dal recipe is a learn how to make this recipe with an easy-to-follow step-by-step image. This is my favorite dal recipe that I make in the winter season. This basic ingredient is so easy to make whether you make it on the stovetop.

Methi Moong Dal

Ingredients

  • Moong Dal 1 Cup soak
  • Fenugreek Leaves Half Bunch Chopped
  • Green Chili Chopped
  • Ginger Sliced
  • Garlic Sliced
  • Cooking Oil 1/3 Cup
  • Water 1/2 Cup
  • Onion Chopped Small
  • Salt 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 Tsp
  • Cumin Powder 1 Tsp
  • Coriander Powder 2 Tsp
  • Red Chili Powder 2 Tsp

Preparation

Rinse 1 cup moong dal 4 times and then soak in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes drain the water and strain.

Remove the stem of the methi leaves put the methi leaves in a colander and wash methi leaves well to remove stone under running water. when wash drains the water completely and chop.

Heat 1/3 cup of cooking oil in a pan.

When the oil is hot then add the chopped onion saute the onion till they start to swing golden.

And then add ginger, garlic, and saute till they come golden and the raw scent goes down.

Now add the moong dal stir the dal and mix them well.

Add 1/2 teaspoon salt according to your taste,1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder,2 teaspoons red chili powder,1 teaspoon cumin powder,2 teaspoon coriander powder stir, and mix.

Now add 1/2 cup of water.

Mix and stir thoroughly. and then add methi leaves saute the methi for 1 minute.

And then add chop green chili cover and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.

When the dal softens and water becomes dry displayed in the image under.

Serve with moong dal with warm roti and the side with salad.
