Lokma

Lokma is my all time favorites, this is my crispy , soft and light Turkish lokma recipe. It comes together in one bowl and coat well with syrup! Recipe includes a how-to video!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 +1/4 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sugar powder
  • 1 Tsp Yeast

Sugar Syrup

  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup water
  • Ghee for frying

How To Make lokma

  • In the bowl of you mixer add all the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour in warm water and mix. Rest for 30 minutes.

Frying

  • Heat the oil in a pot,Put the dough in small pieces (you can squeeze it in your hand and take it with a spoon, scrape it with two dessert spoons, put it in a piping bag cut the dough with scissors) into the hot oil and fry until they are golden.
  • Take them from the oil with a colander and take them out into a strainer.

Making Sugar Syrup

  • Take sugar,and water in a saucepan and boil over high heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • After the sugar melts, decrease the flame and simmer for 10 minutes.Set aside to cool down completely.

Coated The Sugar Syrup

  • Take the dumplings out and dunk them in the sugar syrup, stir to coat.Get the dumplings out of the syrup after 2-3 minutes and place in a colander to drip excess syrup.
  • Serve immediately.
